Privacy Policy
This policy explains what ICGC Praise Temple collects about you, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It was last updated on 24 August 2026.
Who We Are
ICGC Praise Temple is a church in Texas. This policy covers this website and the text messages and emails we send.
What We Collect
- Membership details — your name, the day and month of your birthday (we do not record the year), your phone number, email address, home address, and how you prefer to be contacted.
- Attendance — a record of the services you attended, where somebody recorded it.
- Giving — a record of donations and pledges, kept because it is needed for giving statements and for the church's accounts.
- Text message consent — whether you agreed to receive texts, when, and whether you have since asked us to stop.
- Things you send us — testimonies, prayer requests, announcement submissions and form messages.
- Pastoral notes — where a pastor has recorded something from a conversation. These are the most restricted records we hold.
- Website usage — standard server logs, and a cookie for signing in if you have an account.
Mobile Information And Text Messages
We will not share or sell your mobile information or opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
Your consent to receive text messages is never assumed. Joining the church, filling in a form or giving us your number for another reason does not put you on the texting list — you have to tick the box or reply to confirm, and it is left unticked by default.
Communications And How To Opt Out
By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS service updates, event announcements and prayer requests from ICGC Praise Temple. Message frequency may vary. Standard Message and Data Rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. We will not sell or share mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
You can stop the texts at any time in any of these ways, and none of them affects anything else about your membership:
- Reply STOP to any message we send.
- Reply HELP to any message and we will tell you how to reach us.
- Tell the church office, and we will take you off the list.
Replying STOP takes effect immediately and permanently. Only you can undo it — nobody at the church can put you back on the list on your behalf.
How We Use What We Collect
To run the church: to know who is part of the family, to let you know about services and events, to keep the accounts and produce giving statements, to organise the duty roster, and to care for people pastorally. We do not use your information to advertise anything, and we do not profile you.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your information to anybody, for any purpose. We share it only where we have to in order to do the thing you asked for:
- Messaging and email providers, who carry the text messages and emails we send you.
- Phone companies, who deliver the messages to your handset.
- Our website host, which stores the site and its database.
- Where the law requires it.
How Long We Keep It
Membership and giving records are kept while you are part of the church and afterwards where the law or the church's accounts require it — giving records in particular have to be kept for tax purposes. A record that you asked us to stop texting you is kept indefinitely, because forgetting it is how somebody gets texted again after asking not to be. Pictures sent in text messages are deleted thirty days after the message goes out.
Your Choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to stop contacting you, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. Write to us using the details below and we will deal with it.
Children
We do not knowingly collect information from children without a parent or guardian's involvement. Children appear in our records where a parent has enrolled them; a parent can ask us to remove those details at any time.
Changes To This Policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change affects how we contact you, we will tell you.
